2009-2010 Youth Chorale AuditionsLETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR, CAROLYN MYERS: You may have heard that there has been a change in the leadership of the Greenville Youth Chorale for the coming year. My name is Carolyn Myers and I'm looking forward to working with the Chorale and sharing an exciting and rewarding year with its members. It's always been a special joy for me to perform music of different styles and cultures with others who have a love of choral music. At the same time, I've enjoyed many opportunities to meet new people and establish special relationships. All returning GYC members will automatically be included in the coming season's roster. However, before rehearsals begin, I would like to have the opportunity to meet with each returning member individually so that I can get to know a little bit about you and hear you sing. These meetings will take place at the same times new member auditions are scheduled, which is Sunday, August 30, from 2- 5PM and Monday, August 31, from 5:30 - 8:30PM at St. James Methodist Church.
For new members: It is preferable that individuals who audition for the Youth Chorale have some choral and music reading experience, but it is not required. However, all potential members should have a genuine interest in vocal music and ensemble singing of diverse styles and cultures.
