The mission of the Greenville Choral Society is to foster excellence in the art of choral singing and to provide music education, cultural enrichment and entertainment for its members and the community. In keeping with that mission, GCS is committed to providing musical opportunities to all potential members, regardless of their financial situation. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available to cover membership dues each season in the form of a credit (concert attire and music for the Concert Choir is not included). All applications must be submitted annually. All information is kept confidential and will only be shared with the GCS Scholarship Committee.
Rhonda Fleming Music Study Scholarship
In 2004 the Greenville Choral Society established the Rhonda Fleming Music Study Scholarship, named for long-time Director of the GCS Concert Choir, Rhonda Fleming (see history). The $1,000 scholarship is presented each year to a deserving senior in the Youth Chorale that has demonstrated a commitment to the Youth Chorale, his/her high school, and the community, and plans to major in music in college.
