The Greenville Choral Society is a community choral organization formed in 1969 as The Greenville Community Chorus. Now, over a half-century later, GCS continues to serve its mission to foster excellence in the art of choral singing and provide music education, cultural enrichment and entertainment for its members and the community. The organization includes four regularly-performing choral ensembles for children, youth and adults and The New Carolina Sinfonia, the region’s first professional orchestra.
About New Carolina Sinfonia:
The New Carolina Sinfonia is a professional symphony orchestra organized under the auspices of the Greenville Choral Society.It was formed to meet the orchestral needs of our vibrant and growing musical community.The orchestra is designed to work with the Choral Society, area ballet companies, and to serve the community with concerts exploring the broad array of orchestral repertoire. The orchestra draws its membership from ECU faculty members, talented and accomplished alumni, and other regional professionals.
