Concert Choir Auditions

Auditions for singers wishing to join the Greenville Choral Society Concert Choir will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at St. James United Methodist Church AND on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Peace Presbyterian Church. Please do not fret about the audition! The conductor simply needs to hear your voice and assess where you will fit in best within the ensemble. The audition will consist of the following components:

A short discussion with the conductor about past choral experience.
A brief vocalization.
Singing of a short piece. You may bring a piece or repertoire with you (a hymn, classical piece, or broadway selection if you wish) or the conductor will provide you with a copy, “My Country ‘tis of Thee.”
A short sight-reading excerpt from a hymnal, during which the conductor will accompany you at the piano.

Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings 7:00-9:00 at Peace Presbyterian. Concert Schedule:
December 10 @ 2:00-5:30 - Rehearsal at The Memorial Baptist Church
December 14 @ 6:00-9:00 - Dress Rehearsal at TMBC
December 16 @ 7:00 - Concert at TMBC
February 17 @ 10:00-1:00 Dress Rehearsal at The Holiday Inn
February 17 @ 6:00 - GALA Fundraiser Concert at The Holiday Inn
April 28 @ 1:00 - Dress Rehearsal at TMBC
April 29 @ 3:00 - Concert at TMBC

Theater is holding auditions for singers. We are looking for both classical singers as well as musical theater singers who have an interest in working with children. The first session is scheduled to last two hours, but may be extended depending on the number of auditionees present.
